Help for ex mil = THINK SSAFA-FORCES HELP protest

We exist to help ex mil and dependants but  subject to interview and means test (for financial help).  occasion13 Celebrating 125 years in existence in 2010 toothy10

I'm a Case Worker with local SSAFA and have not yet failed to get assistance for any of my clients - never had ex Sapper client so far tho'.

We quite often fund wheelchairs, mobility scooters, chair lifts, funeral expenses etc and quite often obtain funds to resolve some debts.  Sometimes we can help with holidays and all sort of other things.  We don't provide funding for items a client has already bought and paid for

If you know of ex mil/dependants needing help, then get them to contact their local SSAFA office.  Should be noted obtaining funding from providers is not 'instant'.  Normally cash is not given to clients tho in some circumstances some funds might decide to provide a monthly grant to a client.

NB: To help clients with funding we approach the relevant Mil Funds or Civvy Charities.  SSAFA does not have it's own funds to assist clients except in a real emergency.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS FOR ALL SORT OF JOBS.  EXPENSES ARE PAID.  TRAINING IS GIVEN

if we know where to contact him , maybe all send a cheque to Russ and then from Russ to him or do it individually. Anyone know roughly where he lives ? anyone put saafa or REA in touch with him? 59 must have an old gits club I would have thought or even the green hats do thier own thing dont they?

Either way i would be happy to bung him a couple of quid, just thinking out loud about other people who may also be able to offer some help.

I think if we are all happy that this guy is the 'real deal' then we should raise the subject(with our OC's blessing) to its own 'heading' ?

Russ I know I have brought up charity subjects before but maybe its time OE's had a dedicated area on the site? tricky one I know.

Thoughts men

Gents and Ladies, I'm not sure how many of you are aware of this chritable organisation but it does what it says on the tin.
The link below is concerning a Falklands Sapper vet who is trying to sell his medals to give his family a holiday in Florida. He also has
Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia.

http://www.arrse.co.uk/Forums/viewtopic/t=134692.html

If you would like to donate something towards a holiday for him and his family you can pay

via Paypal using info@holidays4heroes.org

Or by bank transfer
